DOSEI: a late-game parry check before Boss Rush

Players with 100% completion describe DOSEI THE GIANT CLAW as the hardest fight up to that point. Phase 2 is a relentless uninterrupted sequence with very tight parry timing — a missed deflect can end an attempt. This page records what is verified about the pattern without inventing frame data.

Full-release hands-on:DOSEI is the late-game Alpha; Steam achievement unlock rate was roughly 19.6% in the recorded snapshot.
Hands-on notes:Two independent players with 100% completion corroborate the Phase 2 string as the key difficulty spike.
Release-day check:Per-attack names, exact HP triggers and patch-sensitive tuning are not published here.

The Phase 2 string

  • Phase 2 is one continuous sequence — there is no natural break to breathe or heal.
  • Every parry window is tight; missing a single deflect ends the attempt for most builds.
  • Do not plan to out-DPS the string. The fight is won by surviving Phase 2 cleanly, not by bursting.
  • Phase 1 is largely a stamina warm-up. Use it to set spacing, manage heals and preserve Resonance for Phase 2.
  • If the string feels unlearnable, treat the attempt as data: which hit in the sequence failed, and why.

Preparation, not panic

  • Enter with maximum heals. DOSEI is the fight where Heal Ore count matters most before Boss Rush.
  • Use a weapon whose punish window you have personally tested; the supplied material does not support a universal weapon recommendation for this fight.
  • Keep Resonance for a defensive Soul Art (Meteor Zone, Alpha Roar lockdown) rather than a damage burst; the string punishes offensive spending.
  • Asteron Meteorrend has been reported by players in the DOSEI fight specifically — if you have it, test it in Phase 1 first.
  • Do not commit to a long string after a clean parry. DOSEI restores posture quickly if you over-extend.

Where DOSEI fits

DOSEI is the late-game cluster Alpha, after REAPER & SHADE. Beating him clears the path toward the final story fight and Boss Rush mode. Treat him as the graduation check for everything you learned about deflect, posture and healing discipline in the canyon and jungle.
