Boss 03 • hands-on notes
KASEI, The Tyrant: respect the cleaver
KASEI is the main boss at the end of the Demo route. The fight starts with Ankylosaurid Club pressure, then shifts around the final third of health into Giant Cleaver pressure with longer reach and new/modified moves.
Hands-on notes:KASEI uses Ankylosaurid Club in Phase 1 and Giant Cleaver in Phase 2.
Release-day check:Damage values, exact HP trigger and full-release changes still need structured capture.
- Location
- Dry Canyons Part 3
- Phase 1
- Ankylosaurid Club
- Phase 2
- Giant Cleaver
- Reward
- 3 Boss SP, large EXP; no summon recorded
Moves to learn

- Tyrant Stomp: close-range pressure; reset before greed turns it into a trade.
- Dino Wave: ranged or line pressure; watch the ground before moving back in.
- Soaring Smash: punish only after the landing recovery is clear.
- Tailbreaker: stay alert when circling behind KASEI.
- Cleaver Strike and Ground Ripper: Phase 2 reach checks after the weapon swap.
- Spinning Frenzy: do not challenge the whole sequence unless you are intentionally practicing deflect timing.
Plan around the transition
- Enter the fight with 4 recorded heals if you picked up Heal Ore +1 on the route.
- Use Phase 1 to learn spacing; do not spend all Resonance before the cleaver appears.
- The transition includes a QTE. After it, assume your old spacing is too close until proven otherwise.
- Meteor Dash, Alpha Roar and Charge Slash are all useful test tools, but their exact scaling still needs deeper capture.
- One of the cleaner Phase 2 openings is after the cleaver throw and follow-up sequence; punish briefly, then leave.
Reward and next step
KASEI does not have a recorded summon reward in the July 24 notes. The important reward is 3 Boss SP plus large EXP, followed by a Red Soul and the route toward a new weapon before the Demo endpoint.
